Karen is participating in the Relay For Life 2009: Indie Music Campaign in support of the American Cancer Society. Contributions of $25 or more will receive a physical CD with jewel case, artwork, and notes. Check out this promotional video - the song in the video is an orchestral arrangement of Karen's cover version of "Left Behind" (originally written and recorded by the band For Squirrels). SAC Writing Retreat

I've been invited by the Songwriter's Association of Canada to attend a private writing retreat this week at a resort just outside of Toronto. I'm really excited to collaborate with other writers and enjoy the country air for a few days. I'll let you know how it goes!
Amanda's song revealed... and voting still open!
Posted on September 24, 2008, 11:47:21 AM by Karen.
This friday's episode of YTV's The Next Star will reveal the recorded version of the song I wrote and produced for Amanda. I recorded the song at Canterbury Music and in my new studio (yay!), and while it features Amanda on lead vocals, you can also hear lil' ol me on piano and backing vocals, and our very own Marc Rogers on bass. Tune in to YTV on Sept 26th at 6pm or 9pm to hear it and see the judges reactions (and also to possibly see me get emotional on national tv... doh)!
Remember, voting on the YTV.com website is still open (though the actual finalist standings have been taken down to make Sunday's big finale a surprise!). Please vote for Amanda 5x a day till the end of the week!
