less than a week left till the real holidays start. i'm already partially on holiday time, in my mind. i think xmas is one of my favorite holidays, simply for the magic and the sparkle (not the circus-like multi-colored glare but the light glittery snowdust-like shine). This year i'm even more aware of how depressing winter is after the new year hits. we need more holidays like xmas, where we decorate and get rosy... to get us through white or brown xmases. Why not? why do we only have one holiday that puts us in such a mood?

well i guess thanksgiving is a bigger event south of the border. but up here it's not such. and it's still BEFORE xmas, on the wrong side... doesn't do anything to lift the barrenness of jan/feb. and i don't think valentines day has enough of the right kind of power... though both holidays do tend to leave some people depressed too.... i guess it's cuz valentine's day is just not a family event.

see the rambling that happens when i haven't had coffee and have barely stumbled out of bed on a saturday??
