curses on the US postal service...and salutations from Cleveland OH. On a mini-tour in Ohio and Indiana this week and it seems the postal service ATE many of my beloved color posters that were sent ahead of time to the venues. It was suggested that maybe I have a rabid postalworker fan...? well next time i send posters i'll have to encase them in lead or something. get them REALLY suspicious!

met a lot of really nice people on this tour... generous people who have opened their homes to us and made us feel really welcome. thank you!!!! in some ways, it's been like a mini-vacation becuz the weather is warmer down here - oh dear. marc's reading over my shoulder and swears there are 2 Z's in becuz .... *sigh* men! - anyhow as i was saying, the weather is warmer down here... melting... we've been lovin' every minute of it and even driving with the windows down. It's really funny when you arrive in a town and people are commenting on how cold it is... all the while, we just got out of the car and commented on how it felt like SPRING!

This isn't to say that Toronto is igloo-like in winter, becuzzzz then i'd sound like a real wus... Toronto is actually much warmer than where I grew up. However, January has been an up-and-down month for us... at the beginning of the month it was nice but then it got BITTERLY cold for the last couple weeks... with a wind that chills you to the bone!

ok enough on the weather... like you really care about the weather!

we drove from Columbus to Cleveland last night... staying with friends here. The last show of the tour is tonite at the Barking Spider but as for the day, we've kinda got it open for exploring town. Our hosts have provided us with plenty of cool stuff to do... so think we might check out the museum.

well i'll sign off for now... have you ever seen Everybody Loves Raymond? Apparently, some men around here think i'm starting to sound like the women on that show... "Bap bap bap bap bap bap" *groan*

thanks everyone who came to the show last night! whew! what a fun time.... we got a live recording off the sound board and it sounds pretty kickin' ...so i think i'm gonna sort through it and pick a song to put up on the web for ya'll to hear... the question is... which one!

our setlist last night:

trying anyway
crazy little game
dyin' for ya
stained glass window
slide (NEW!)
casual goodbye
wish on a star

thanks Crispin, Mike the doorman (who -completely of his own accord-, wore a "Don't Assume" sticker in the center of his chest for the entire night (rockin!), and the Half Full guys who invited us to warm up for them...

really looking forward to the show tonite.... at rehearsal yesterday we discovered 80's songs we LONG to cover (coming soon, i promise) and the art of moonwalking in the snow. it took us an hour to get there cuz of the storm!

for the sake of everyone i see today i have *avoided* the lusciously garlic-y homemade hummous i made this week... tho i really was craving some today. oh the sacrifices!!!!
