i'm looking back to the last posting and it's been so long since it that maybe you thought the puzzle ate me! it WAS consuming, but i am through with it and need another. i'm writing this without my morning coffee so beware!

playing bass more lately and getting some lessons too! i also had my once-or-twice-a-year binge of SIM computer games last week (this time the game of choice was SimCity 3000)... i have yanked myself away from it for a few days so maybe the binge is over but you never can tell.... bwahahhahaha

i was practicing the other day when this HUGE frikkin spider ran up the wall in the studio... my composure was fairly admirable...it was all i could do to gently set the bass down and unplug, then run to get some tissue and a ladder for spider hunting... i flushed him down the toilet for good measure...you know that feeling when you are over sensitized to watching for bugs and you get prickles on your body imagining more spiders? that was me trying to practice after that.... ew!

mmmmm recording recording recording.

i went out and bought a puzzle yesterday... it's one of those cool ones where the picture is actually made up of hundreds of smaller photos... makes it very difficult to put together but awfully meditative for listening back to tracks and just in general, thinking.

i had a weird dream last night that i was only a caretaker in my building - in my very unit - and when weekend came the power would be shut off. i wasn't quite done doing dishes and my caretaking partner decided to order a pizza... when it arrived he paid the bill but left me to pay for the tip, to which i fumbled around to find money, and gave the guy a $20 bill... asked for $15 back and the change he gave me was assorted sizes and colors of jelly beans. by then it was time that i be out of the building but i was running late and the lights were going out and i was trying to get the delivery guy and his friend out of the apartment (his friend had made his way into the studio and i was afraid he'd steal a microphone in the darkness). I got them out and locked the door and made it out and onto the streetcar but my boss was pissed that i was late.

so glad that vodka has zero carbs!!!

watched a really good movie last night - "boondock saints" - it always fascinates me how they take a location in Toronto and make it look like Boston or New York or somewhere. :) In Boondock Saints, there's a scene at a restaurant nearby called "Lakeview Lunch" and at one point, they have this long shot of the front sign of the restaurant, and there's very clearly "LLBO" written on it... hhaah! what does that stand for, Liquor Licence Board of Ontario? hehe

ah. feeling good.. i'm not one for crazy whacked out eating patterns or mantras, but i started a new nutritional plan a week ago and it's really doing neat things to my body... feeling very happy and finding myself being much more productive creatively. Going to the gym regularly is good too.. i've never been a gym person before! :) I still don't really feel like one now.. i keep to myself there, pretty much out of shy-ness... i don't really feel like i fit in with all those health concious, get-fit people. I can barely stay on the cross-trainer if there isn't a good show on the gym tv. The best shows for working out? Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, and Friends - although i'd much rather watch friends at home and hear the audio instead of subtitles. It's funnier that way. Other good watching material includes silly romantic comedy movies. Some that really got me pedalling was Miss Congeniality... Clueless... hmmm there have been others... anyways, that's what works for me!

off to the gym!
