ok, here's the verdict: not bad. on a scale from one to ten, i give it a 6. here's the recipe. watch out for the edges of the tofu crisps... they can be pretty hard.
Tofu-tortilla Nachos...
Cover the bottom of a baking sheet with oil. Slice a block of extra firm tofu thinly and place on the sheet. Lightly coat the tops of the slices with oil and sprinkle with ONE of any of the following seasonings (thanks doug):
- cajun seasoning mix
- tex mex seasoning mix
- chili powder
- paprika
- curry powder
Bake in oven at 400 degrees F for about 10 min per side, until crisp and medium brown. Remove from oven and arrange on a plate. Sprinkle with green pepper, onion, and cover with grated cheese. Put back in oven for 5 min, then serve with salsa.
