Here i am, in Vienna! I've been on holiday for the last week and actually went days without checking email. (3). (ok maybe it was actually 2). (but how do you account exactly with the time difference?). We're staying in St. Stephensplatz.... a square in the center of vienna's 1st district. There's an 850 year old cathedral here... and above all the other amazing buildings, this one is the apple of my eye. My favorite thing to do is get a late-night bratwurst and beer and wander down the square. The city is lit up for xmas/new years... with more lights than i've ever seen in one city. Long strings of white lights strung in great masses like curtains, gathered and carpeting the walls of buildings, and shaped into giant chandeliers down the main drags. Magical.

Am going to pay my respects at beethoven's gravesite tomorrow. Have picked up over 30 cds of classical music faves for listening at home... this may rejuvinate my classical playing again. (don't wanna jinx it though, it's easy to get in my head about this stuff).

probably will be going out to see some music tonight, in an area they call the "bermuda triangle". wonder what the vienna music scene is like... saw some german pop music on tv today and it was... fascinating :)

it's really tempting to rush.... things seem urgent and you can push but the truth always comes out.

i'm in a good writing place these days... tho my journal couldn't speak for it... i guess i get all written out by the time there's time. lol. ok my writing here sucks today. sorry guys. but that's the basic idea. i've been writing a lot lately, and it puts me in a good balanced headspace - rare. that and my new dirty secret hobby.

1 week till vienna... i'm gonna visit beethoven's grave.
