grrr. stupid-weekend-broken-air-conditioning-over-priced-maintenence-call-avoidance. we got a fan.

today was a very relaxed day... my first one in a long time. so much so, that i spent most of the day in awe of how relaxed i felt. i think some of it is due to finally getting a more solid-ish night's sleep last night (still room for improvement tho) and that both cds are in the can and the supermarket extravaganza is over. i had my first writing session today after a bit of a hiatus, and it felt so good. when i am in a lyric writing "zone", i could probably best describe the feeling as a euphoric high - quite literally. fitting words together to the music, stumbling across a perfect line when i least expect it; it's a real thrill. the people at starbucks must wonder about the girl sitting on the patio with her laptop grinning like a fool.

very excited about this week! National Sound's 6 song EP is done and in our hot little hands and we're busy getting ready for the big show/party on tuesday... between rehearsals and preparing my pedal board/synth rig (!!) i've been gradually getting things updated on our myspace page.... check out some mp3's now:

sort of insomnia again last night. kept waking up... but when i drifted in and out of sleep, i kept dreaming we were working on the enhanced content for Wish On A Star.... and it would wake me up. i had to remind myself that we handed the master in yesterday... it's all in the hands of the manufacturing plant now.

i guess i probably need a day off... but as i slipped quietly out of bed i couldn't help thinking that i could get some work done on the national sound ep artwork before marc got up. i think i'm just in non-stop work mode to get these 2 projects done... my brain can't turn off. we master the ep on tuesday... maybe then i'll have a day off and be able to not-focus. :)

maybe i need a morning of computer games. i think i could try that. i wish they'd make a Rise of Legends for mac.
