hello everyone... i haven't been updating often but that's because there's just so much on the go right now! that fall tour is in full swing and it's been great to get back out playing after being hidden away in the studio all spring and summer. we've been across southern ontario and up into quebec... stopping in Ottawa, Montreal, and more.... we had some hairy moments in the rain on a very dark highway with worn out windshield wipers... (a late-night run to a store just off the highway has upgraded the CRV with the BEST wipers money can buy!!!!) it's fun sharing the tour this time round... courtney and i are finding that we're a good team and we both like to relax at the end of a long day with a glass of wine! :)

in the midst of all the gigs, i'm also working extremely hard on the record. if you've been keeping up with my journal or newsletters you probably know that i thought i would be finished by now, and in fact, the record was fully mixed a few weeks ago. however, i took some time to sit down and have a "heart to heart" listen and i decided that there were a few songs i had questions about... i wanted to follow a hunch and try singing the vocals again. so, back i went to re-rent the mic and preamp. for the last couple of weeks i've been experimenting and recutting vocals between my days out on the road, and i'm SO excited about the results... i think the new vocals capture more of my "road spirit" and ...perhaps due to the fact that i'm in the middle of touring while doing them. they are the last ingredient that the songs needed to really sparkle.

a few more days, maybe a week... then there shouldn't be anything more that i could possibly fiddle with. really. :) fingers crossed.
