as i type this, my finished mixes are uploading to the Sterling Sound servers in New York for the mastering session on monday (the final stage of sequencing, EQ'ing, and prepping the album before manufacturing the actual CDs). it feels silly to admit this but before i pushed that button to start the file transfer i felt so nervous i could have puked! it was like.... "is this it? now? now? REALLY??!!" and now that i've committed and the files are sending, i feel a freakishly strong urge to laugh and cry all at the same time. like i can't believe i'm finally here. in these final days, every step is a heady rush, as if i'm about to skydive from a plane.

time to go out and blow off some steam.

CELEBRATION!!!!!!!!!!!

yes, you know what that means!

after about 5 days of working so hard that i literally did not leave the apartment (save the convenience store on the main floor... ok so i didn't leave the buildling)... i emerged today with 10 mixes and spent the afternoon walking amongst the skyscrapers in the cold, listenening to them on my ipod. i am happy to say that, save a couple tiny tweaks (volume adjustments to the vocals on a couple songs), they're DONE!

i have picked my mastering engineer at Sterling Sound in NYC. i should be ready to send them off on monday. gotta pinch myself, i think.
