way too much tv

i've been out of commission with the flu the last couple of days. finally tonight i think i might be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel - my fever has broken, hopefully not to return this time. i can't really remember the last time i had a flu like this! i feel almost like a little kid again... eating chicken soup and popsicles (which really help the fever!)... and i've watched so much tv; i've probably seen about 30 episodes of 'Friends'.

Aww the flu is the worst and that's a nasty one that's going around. I've dodged it so far but I know it's eventually coming my way. I have no immune system and it's all the flu shot's fault (I thought the thing was supposed to make me healthier...)

I'm tucking into bed for a few days with my back thrown out again... and lo! There's soup in the cupboard.... Hmm...

ugh back problems... that really sucks too!

i always wondered about the flu shot... it can't possibly protect you from every possible flu virus, right? when did you get yours?

I haven't had one in years... I did it once in 2001 I think? It's supposed to protect you from 5 really common nasty ones or something.

In any case, the story: my immune system SUCKED through childhood. Harcore sucked. As in, was off sick so much they sent social workers to my house twice in one year thinking my mom was beating me. Over time, it gradually got pretty good to where I'd get sick once a season.

So there I am on campus and the uni clinic is doing flu shots. I'm like, "Why not? Too many exams! No sick being allowed!"

I got sick 4 times that winter. My immune system completely collapsed again for the next four YEARS. I'm finally back to once per season. You couldn't pay me enough to get another. Well okay if you paid off all my debt and gave me $20,000 extra, okay. ;)

Shots don't like me. I reacted badly to Hep B and Measles too. I got a weird muscle infection that sent me to the ER from my last tetanus. My doc offered me Gardasil and I decided not to bother.

I shouldn't have been surprised when I had the super-rare bad reaction mix with my tattoo and my MRI. Really. This is my luck.
