I have a few new demos that are almost finished but I wasn’t able to work on them this week because things were a bit hectic… the week started with some work on a project Marc’s producing for Matt McKenna and James Bloemendal. I was helping create and record background vocal harmonies, and will be lending editing assistance in the coming days as well. I wrote a spooky song with Emma-Lee from Toronto and after a couple days of recording we’ve got a really fun demo in the works that I can’t wait to share. Yesterday I co-wrote 3 tunes in a marathon session with Tyler Summers who was up visiting from Nashville. It was a late night but I woke up early this morning anyways, eager to take a listen to what we wrote (which is always a good sign). Will start work on some demos for that stuff as soon as I can. Here’s a recent demo of a song I wrote with Julie Crochetiere, Vince Degiorgio, and Maurice Christopher Bennett. It’s one of a few songs that we wrote with Julie’s upcoming record in mind. I can’t wait to hear what she does with it! In the meantime, we were sitting around writing the other day and started talking about how this particular song would also sound pretty cool in a more “pop” direction so… here’s the demo that resulted!
