Emma-Lee‘s Shot In The Dark is back on the iTunes charts this month, recently hitting #34 on the top Jazz singles in the USA and #28 in Greece. The song originally hit the charts in October 2011 when it appeared on Lifetime Network’s reality show Dance Moms, at that time peaking at #22 in the US and #11 in Greece. It has also inspired a series of tribute Youtube videos by young fans of the show – featuring everything from solo and group dance routines that the young girls choreographed themselves to homemade commercials for Britney Spears perfume… super cute! They called the song “A deliriously catchy (North) Americana number that overtakes you like a cool evening fog, slowly gaining energy before finally exploding into a shower of Marachi-flavoured horns.” Not Coming By is the first single from Emma-Lee’s upcoming record Backseat Heroine, which was produced by Marc Rogers and yours truly. :)

It Won’t Be Christmas (Till You’re Here) by Julie C was featured in the opening scene of NCIS: Los Angeles last night! The episode is called Higher Power. I especially liked how the lyric “it’s not about the 25th, it’s about the one you’re with” synced up with the scene where the couple gets their sexy on… :) well done NCIS!

Mike has the voice of an angel, and we met when I asked him to come in and sing on some tracks. Excited to let you know about 2 new album releases that feature songs of mine that have come out recently… Leah Daniels‘ self-titled debut record was released on June 10th and features a fun country-pop tune Can’t Fall In Love, which co-written by myself, Leah, and Ava Kay. Former Canadian Idol runner-up Chad Doucette‘s new album Hit It just ‘hit’ iTunes this week. It features 3 songs I’ve had the pleasure of co-writing… Waves was co-written by myself, Chad Doucette, and KC Roberts, Half Heartedly was co-written by myself, Chad Doucette and Australian Idol runner-up Thanh Bui, and Ducks In A Row is song which Chad and I wrote the very first time ever we got together to write at my studio in Toronto. That day we ended up recording this fun little bonus track right there on the spot, with both Chad and I singing and playing (or rather, me playing piano and Chad whistling!). ‘Daydreamer’ is the new U.K. single from the EMI Netherlands recording artist DOTAN. The song is from his debut album Dream Parade, released in May. ‘Daydreamer’ was written by Dotan, James Bryan and myself at Martin Terefe’s Kensaltown Studios last spring in London, England and produced by Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson, Dashboard Confessional).
