Biography After 12 years of writing and recording records and releasing them independently under my own name, I’ve realized that my true passion lies in the area of songwriting and production. I now write and co-write for a variety of artists, in a number of genres. Since June 2008 I have had a number of adventures along this new path: I wrote and produced ‘From The Heart’ for Amanda Rowland on the hit YTV show The Next Star (released on Universal Music Canada). I co-wrote and produced the single ‘Shot In The Dark’ for artist Emma-Lee, which was featured in the HBO Canada miniseries Bloodletting + Miraculous Cures. I’ve had the opportunity to write at the Hit Factory Studios in New York and I travelled to Munich, Germany to co-write for German Pop Idol. In Spring 2010 I made my first trip to Nashville and also my first trip to London where I had an amazing time writing with artists signed to Mercury Records France and EMI Netherlands at Martin Terefe’s Kensaltown Studios in London, UK. I’ve been on a Songwriter’s Association of Canada writing retreat where I had the opportunity to work for 3 days straight with other artist/writers. Some artists and writers that I’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with include Keith Follese, Adrienne Follese, James Bryan, Brian West, Rob Allen, Eric Dill, Lucian Piane, Sophie Delila, Nicole Henry, Vince Degiorgio, Christopher Ward, Thanh Bui, Kalan Porter, Richard Harris, Melany Watson, Alison Parson, Wes Hutchinson, Zack Hexum, Julie Crochetiere, Emma-Lee, Leah Daniels, Ava Kay, Brandon Chandler, Tyler Summers, Courtney Farquhar, Shannon Butcher, Dane Hartsell, Tony Rabalao, Earl Stevenson, Justin Abedin, Chad Doucette and Trey Mills. My songs are currently being been pitched to major artists in Japan, Germany, Canada and the US. In 2011 I co-produced a new record from Emma-Lee, which is expected for release this fall. I sing, play piano and guitar, engineer, and program. I’ve set up my own writing / production studio in the front room at my favorite recording studio in Toronto (The Canterbury Music Company) and am always expanding my musical arsenal… currently in addition to my collection of samples and soft synths I am working with a few vintage drum machines (MC-303 and TR-909), and a multitude of analog synths (including a Minimoog, SH-101, and Chroma Polaris). I record primarily using Logic Audio, Pro Tools, Melodyne, and Reason. |
